Design whole systems for places where nothing can be taken for granted: extreme cold, vacuum, radiation, distance, and no one on site to fix it.
What you will own
Define system architectures that combine sensing, compute, power, communications, and AI for extreme and remote environments.
Run trade studies and failure analysis so the design degrades gracefully instead of failing outright.
Set requirements and interfaces between hardware, firmware, software, and AI teams, and hold them to account.
Plan verification and validation, including analogue field trials in environments such as polar, subsea, and desert sites.
Work with clients to understand the operating conditions, constraints, and consequences of failure.
Document designs and decisions so a different team can build, operate, and maintain the system.
